About Audicite
What is Audicite?
Audicite is AI transcription software that turns live speech, recordings, video and meetings into accurate, speaker-labelled transcripts, and fact-checks the claims in them with cited sources.
Who makes Audicite?
Audicite Technologies, based in Toronto, Canada. Contact: hello@audicite.com.
Who is Audicite for?
Journalists and fact-checkers, podcasters and creators, sports media, researchers, educators and students, business teams who meet online, and anyone who needs an exact record of what was said.
Transcription
How accurate is AI transcription?
With clear audio, modern AI transcription gets most words right: on the Audicite benchmark’s multi-speaker dialogues Audicite’s word error rate was under 1%, clean or noisy, and about 10% for fast overlapping speech. Accuracy drops with distant microphones, heavy noise, crosstalk and unfamiliar names, so important quotes should be checked against the audio.
Can AI tell different speakers apart?
Yes. Audicite labels each speaker automatically (speaker diarization) and refines the labels on the full recording. On its benchmark 95 to 99% of words were attributed to the right speaker; you can rename speakers and correct any line.
Can I transcribe an MP3 to text?
Yes. Upload the MP3 (or M4A, AAC, WAV, FLAC and other formats) up to 4 hours or 2 GB, and Audicite returns a transcript with speakers and timestamps.
Can I turn a video into text?
Yes. Upload MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV or other video files and Audicite transcribes the sound, with captions you can export as SRT, WebVTT or EBU STL.
Can I transcribe YouTube videos?
Often, yes. Paste a YouTube link and Audicite finds the same recording where the speaker publishes it, usually their podcast feed, and transcribes that. Nothing is taken from YouTube: the video is never downloaded or played. It works when the recording is also published outside YouTube, as most podcasts and many interview and news shows are. For a video that exists only on YouTube, upload your own copy from YouTube Studio, or play it on any screen and use Listen nearby on your phone.
Which languages does Audicite support?
82 languages for transcription, 59 of them live, with automatic language detection, and translation into 100 languages.
Can Audicite transcribe meetings?
Yes. It joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex calls as a participant, even when someone else hosts, and can book itself from your calendar. You can follow the transcript live during the call.
Can I transcribe live?
Yes. Live transcription runs in the browser on a computer or phone in 59 languages, from the microphone, a browser tab or both.
Can I export transcripts?
Yes: Word (DOCX, with sources), PDF (with sources), Plain text, SRT captions, WebVTT captions, EBU STL subtitles, EDL (rough cut), CSV, HTML, XML, JSON.
What is the difference between transcription and subtitles?
A transcript is the full text of what was said, usually with speakers and timestamps. Subtitles or captions are the same words split into short timed lines shown over video. Audicite produces both from the same recording.
Fact-checking
How does Audicite fact-check claims?
It detects checkable claims in a transcript and checks each against fact-check databases, your own documents and the web. A rating is given only with the exact source sentence cited and archived; otherwise the claim is marked unverifiable.
Can I check a claim myself?
Yes. Select any words in a transcript to check them, and reviewers can confirm or change a rating before anything is published.
Pricing
How much does Audicite cost?
A free trial includes 30 minutes of audio and 5 fact-checks with no card. Pro is $14.99 per person a month with 1,000 minutes of audio and 100 fact-checks per person, pooled. Enterprise is custom.
Is there a free transcription plan?
Yes: the free trial, 30 minutes of audio and 5 fact-checks, once, no card.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, in one click from your workspace. It ends straight away and the unused days of the month are refunded to your card.
Are there overage charges?
There are no overage charges: when an allowance is used up, new recordings wait until the next month or an upgrade; a recording already running is never cut off.
Privacy and security
Is AI transcription safe and private?
It depends on the provider. Audicite encrypts traffic (HTTPS with HSTS) and stored data (AES-256), tells its speech provider not to use audio to improve its models, uses an AI provider that does not train on data sent through its commercial API, and lets you delete recordings or download everything at any time.
Is my audio used to train AI models?
Audicite does not train models on your recordings, its speech provider is told not to use your audio for model improvement, and its AI provider does not train on data sent through its commercial API.
Does Audicite have security certifications?
Not yet. The security page describes the controls in place today.
