Transcribe YouTube videos, the policy-safe way
Paste a YouTube link and Audicite finds the same recording where the speaker publishes it, usually their podcast feed, and transcribes that. Nothing is taken from YouTube: the video is never downloaded or played. It works for many podcasts, interviews and news shows that also publish as a podcast. A video that exists only on YouTube is not transcribed from its link: if it is yours, download it from YouTube Studio and upload the file; otherwise play it on any screen and use Listen nearby on your phone. You get a transcript with speakers, timed captions, a summary and claim checks, and you can close the page while it runs.

Who it is for
- Anyone who needs the transcript of a podcast, interview or news show they found on YouTube
- Creators who need captions, chapters and descriptions for their own videos
- Organisations transcribing the videos on their own channel
- Teams fact-checking what was said in their own published talks
What Audicite does
- Finds the same recording in the description’s links or a podcast directory, checked by title, date and length
- Shows where the recording came from, beside the transcript
- Transcribes the video file you download from your own channel
- Builds captions to upload back to YouTube (SRT or WebVTT)
- Gives the same transcript, summary and fact-checks as any recording

How it works
- 01Paste the link. Audicite looks for the same recording outside YouTube. For your own video, upload the file from YouTube Studio instead.
- 02Walk away. It runs on our servers; you can close the page meanwhile.
- 03Get the transcript. Speakers, captions, a summary and fact-checks. An email says when it is ready.
Examples
Captions for a channel
Upload last week’s video and export WebVTT captions to add in YouTube Studio.
Questions
Does Audicite download YouTube videos?
No. YouTube’s rules do not allow apps to take the sound from its videos, so Audicite never downloads or plays them. It reads the video’s public details (title, channel, date, length) and transcribes the same recording from where the speaker publishes it.
Does every YouTube link work?
No. It works when the recording is also published outside YouTube, as most podcasts and many interview and news shows are. For a video that exists only on YouTube, upload your own copy from YouTube Studio, or play it on any screen and use Listen nearby on your phone.
How do I know it is the same recording?
A match must have the same title (or, for a show’s own feed, the same day, length and show notes), and its length is checked again after download. The transcript says where the recording came from.
Can I add the captions back to my video?
Yes. Export SRT or WebVTT and upload it in YouTube Studio under Subtitles.
