How fact-checking works

Claims are spotted as they are spoken and checked against sources, sentence by sentence.

As the transcript arrives, Audicite picks out statements that can be checked: figures, dates, records, comparisons. Opinions and predictions are left alone.

Each claim is searched against fact-check databases, your documents and the web. A rating is given only when a source sentence supports it, and every source links to that exact sentence, highlighted, in the live page and in an archived copy whose fingerprint we keep.

If no source settles it, the claim is rated Unverifiable rather than guessed.
